Colours, finish and cameras

Apple’s announcement says iPhone Duo comes in two colours, star white and night sky, and is crafted from grade 5 titanium polished to a mirror finish. Apple also says a nano-texture finish on the inner display reduces glare and reflections.

On the back, Apple lists a 48MP Fusion Main camera, which includes an integrated optical-quality 2x Telephoto, and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. Apple says the Center Stage front camera can take photos and videos in any orientation. These are Apple’s descriptions. We have not tested image quality.

Apple Pencil

Apple’s announcement says that later this year, iPhone Duo will support Apple Pencil with USB-C, so people can take notes, sketch or mark up documents on either display. Apple has not given a date in the material we checked, and we have not tested it.

Apps Apple has highlighted

Apple’s announcement describes experiences in Slack, Netflix, Zoom, and Detail. That is evidence that Apple highlighted those apps; it is not a compatibility audit of every feature, region, subscription tier, or app version. We list the examples as Apple-announced and leave hands-on status pending until a retail device and current app versions can be checked.

See the app evidence index for the individual statements and status labels.

Before deciding what to buy

If you are comparing Duo with a conventional large phone, look at how you use the two displays, the folded thickness and weight, storage, and the software workflows you rely on. The Duo versus iPhone 18 Pro Max comparison uses only published specifications and price. It cannot settle comfort, durability, one-handed use, or real-world app behavior.

For accessories, confirm the exact Duo model and product variant. Apple’s case and folio prices are manufacturer listings; we have not physically checked fit, hinge clearance, adhesive, button access, or charging behavior. See accessories and fit and how we test.

What is still unknown here

  • Independent battery, display, performance, durability, and comfort measurements.
  • App layout and state continuity across folding, on the released OS and app versions.
  • Third-party case, screen protector, charger, and power-bank fit and behavior.
  • Live Canadian retailer prices, stock, promotions, and delivery dates.

We will add those results only when we can identify the device, software version, accessory variant, method, date, and reviewer behind each check.
